Business Administrator

This administrative position is a part-time position that should be combined with other roles.  The Business Administrator can easily also be a debriefer, a trainer, a community development desk officer, an accountant, be involved in hospitality, run the kitchen or do other IT work.  Not all of those, of course!  The mix of roles is dependent on the personality and gifting of the person involved.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Accounting
    • Pay bills
    • Prepare annual audits (French & Swiss)
    • Invoice clients
    • Make bank transfers
  • Manage Operational Budget & Cash Flow
  • Research and maintain appropriate contracts
  • Oversee compliance with European and French policies and laws concerning privacy and data protection (GDPR)
  • Keep up to date with French legal requirements for Associations
  • Write policies, create procedures and forms to prove compliance with French laws
  • Oversee purchase and maintenance of IT hardware
  • Organize calendar planning for team
  • Maintain file archives
  • Prepare annual report for the Board
  • Produce Annual Business Plan

Key Requirements:

  • Basic spoken/written French
  • Ability to write/produce documents with a high English proficiency
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to French cultural business practices and administration
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Publisher, Word)
  • Quickbooks
  • Good general computing and internet skills
  • Report writing skills
